Vacuum pressure systems are installed on a specified area to accelerate the consolidation process in saturated clay soils. In this technique the main principle is to cover the ground to be treated with an impermeable membrane and to apply negative atmospheric pressure together with the support of pumping after special tubes are placed in the soil where poor ground conditions exist, and hence the consolidation is accelerated.<\/p>\n<\/div>
